Dutchmen Invitational
Kelsey Patrick made her final Dutchmen Invitational a memorable one as the senior runner won the meet's individual championship and set the Union Canal Tunnel Park course record in the process on Saturday morning, Sept. 5.

As a team, LVC finished fourth of nine teams with Misericordia taking home the team title. Kutztown's Corinne Manela (18:13.66) came home second behind Patrick and Misericordia's Bianca Bolton (18:45.91), Eastern's Kierra Zack (18:48.40), and Misericordia's Bethany Killmon (19:20.42) rounded out the top five.

Crossing the Line
Kelsey Patrick shattered her own 5k course record of 18:22.42 that she originally set in the fall of 2013 by running a blistering 18:08.91 at the Union Canal Tunnel Park course, besting runner-up Corinne Manela of Kutztown by nearly five seconds.

Alyssa Keich and Sarah Grow pushed each other to top 25 finishes with Keich coming home in 20:28.42 (19th) and Grow following with a time of 20:32.31 (21st). Rebecca Sitler crossed the line 25th thanks to her time of 20:36.67.

Katrina Zicot (27th, 20:45.28), Hannah Kramlik (29th, 20:49.95), Nicole Vasiliu (38th, 21:13.92), and Mackenzie Lausch (40th, 21:24.42) all placed in the top 40 while Hannah Kurek (43rd, 21:30.61), Hannah Jones (44th, 21:36.88), and Emily Banks (49th, 21:52.67) all earned top 50 finishes.

Emily White (22:16.67), Kristen Eberhardt (22:26.85), Samantha Walker (22:45.67), Janessa Cruz (22:54.68), Audrey Reiley (23:07.87), Jeanette Trop (23:20.25), Katie Hampton (24:12.20), and Charlotte Jones (26:09.65) rounded out the Flying Dutchmen runners.

What They're Saying…
"While fourth might not sound exciting, this was an excellent outing for our team and I'm excited about what we can do this year," said LVC head coach James O'Brien '07. "Kelsey Patrck was phenomenal in breaking the course record, what a start to her senior year."

"Both Alyssa Keich and Sarah Grow ran great as our no. 2/3 combo but I was really impressed with Rebecca Sitler and Katrina Zicot finishing in our top five for the first time in their careers," O'Brien continued. "They both ran fantastic races. Across the board we looked good but it was nice to see freshmen Hannah Kramlik, Mackenzie Lausch, and Hannah Kurek run so well in their debuts."

Next Up
O'Brien will determine if Patrick is ready to head to Penn State University for the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational on Friday night, Sept. 11. As a team, LVC will be back on the course Saturday morning, Sept. 12 at the Cougar Classic hosted by Misericordia.
