Erica Wise set a new program record in the women's 100 backstroke, finishing the race in 1:03.44, besting the previous top time of 1:03.68 as Lebanon Valley's swim teams took part in tri-meet action on Saturday afternoon, along with the hosts from King's and Middle Atlantic Conference foe Albright.
The LVC men's squad split the pair, earning a 102-94 victory over King's, and falling to the Lions 108-92. The women's team fell to the Monarchs 113-80 and dropped a 114-85 decision to Albright.
Ian Lloyd,
Clay Heebner, and
Bobby Burkhart all earned individual victories for the Flying Dutchmen. Lloyd's 4:31.85 400 IM win was good enough to beat King's Bryce Groshardt by nearly two seconds. Heebner outswam Albright's Jay DesChamps in a tight 100 fly race, as his 55.89 earned him the win by an arm's length. Burkhart was strong in winning the 100 breaststroke, as his 1:04.65 was good enough to beat King's Randill De Asis by almost three seconds.
Wise and
Jan Ikeda were the top performers for the Dutchmen on the women's side. Wise's outstanding freshman campaign continued as in addition to her record-breaking back time, she also won the 50 free over Albright's Christine Allison by over a second, touching in 25.49, just .11 seconds off Ikeda's program-record time set in 2013. Ikeda made a splash in her return to the pool, winning the 100 fly by a whopping six seconds over Albright's Julia Barry, reaching the wall in 58.87.
The pair joined
Kyra Valent and
Leslie Hiller for the 200 free relay and the group picked up LVC's third victory of the day, combining to touch in 1:47.16. Ikeda started the race with a 26.58 leg, while Wise anchored the team with a 25.09.
The Dutchmen will have a week off before returning to the deck on Monday night, Nov. 23 when they travel to Elizabethtown.
