Kuffa Wins Two Events at Juniata

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Lebanon Valley first-year swimmer Ryan Kuffa won two events as the Dutchmen swimming teams competed against Juniata College on Saturday afternoon at the Binder Natatorium in Huntingdon. The host Eagles defeated the men's squad 150-43 in the dual meet while the women fell 168-32.
 
Inside the Results
  • Kuffa began his day by winning the 800-meter freestyle in a season-best time of 9:48.21. He was four seconds faster than his time last week. Kuffa then won the 400-meter freestyle in a season-best 4:39.38. His time was seven seconds faster than his time last week.
  • The women's 200-meter medley relay squad of Kayla Wolfe, Karly Kile, Marina Weidman, and Jana Shoffner finished third with a time of 2:22.01.
  • Maya Sussman swam a season-best time of 12:13.85 in the 800-meter freestyle. She was five seconds faster than her time last week.
  • Owen Fastrich finished second in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:18.28. The sophomore was third in the 100-meter butterfly with a season-best time of 1:07.66. He was a second faster than his time against King's.
  • Shoffner swam a season-best time of 32.08 seconds in the 50-meter freestyle to finish third. Roman Schelhorn was LVC's top men's finisher in the event with a time of 28.42 to place third.
  • Weidman finished third in the 200-meter IM with a MAC qualifying time of 2:49.59. She also finished third in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:28.13.
  • Natalie Bourne was third in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:12.20. Schelhorn was second in the men's race with a season-best time of 1:04.97. His time was two seconds faster than he swam last week.
  • Wolfe swam two seconds faster than she did last week in the 100-meter backstroke as she touched the wall in 1:20.10.
  • Caleb Sikalis was three seconds faster than his time last week in the 100-meter breaststroke to finish fourth in 1:30.10.
  • The women's 200-meter freestyle relay squad of Shoffner, Sussman, Wolfe, and Bourne finished third in 2:10.33. The men's team of Schelhorn, Sikalis, Fastrich, and Kuffa were third in 1:57.41.

Up Next
The Dutchmen will host Elizabethtown College next Saturday, Nov. 1, inside the Arnold Sports Center. The meet will begin at 1 p.m. against the Blue Jays.
