Kuffa Finishes 19th in 100 Free on Final Day of MAC Swimming Championships

YORK, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley swimming teams ended the season with another strong performance on Sunday at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center in York. Ryan Kuffa finished 19th in the 100-yard freestyle while Nora Cuthie was 23rd in the 200-yard breaststroke.
 
Kuffa began the day with a season-best time of 51.04 seconds to qualify for the "C" Final. The first-year got off to a great start in the Final and was third in the heat to finish 19th with another season-best time of 50.31 seconds. Colbey Brown finished 32nd in the women's heats with a career-best time of 1:05.35 during the preliminaries.
 
Cuthie qualified for the "C" Final in the 200-yard breaststroke with a big career-best time of 2:48.52. The first-year then swam 2:49.85 in the finals to finish 23rd. 
 
The men's 400-yard freestyle relay team of Kuffa, Owen Fastrich, Ryan Moreno, and Caleb Sikalis finished 11th with a time of 3:47.88. The women's "A" team of Marina Weidman, Natalie Bourne, Jana Shoffner, and Noryan Mitchell finished 10th with a time of 4:01.23. The "B" team of Brown, Ryann Kirkpatrick, Grace Strong, and Maya Sussman had a time of 4:24.14 to finish 19th.
 
The Dutchmen women finished 10th at the Championship with 214 points, while the men were 11th with 118 points. Stevens Institute of Technology won both team titles with York College of Pennsylvania and Misericordia University finishing second and third. The Misericordia women were second while York was third, and the Spartan men were second while the Cougars were third.
