ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley College Athletics presented long-time supporter Dr. Kristen Angstadt '74 with its annual "Hot Dog" Frank Athletic Service Award on Saturday.
The award was established by the LVC administration in 1985 to honor the late Frank Aftosmes (1902-1994) for his many contributions to the Lebanon Valley College athletic program. Aftosmes was an Annville businessman and devoted supporter of LVC athletics whose statue now stands in the College's Peace Garden. Since its establishment in 1985, 30 individuals have been honored for their dedication and loyalty to the LVC Athletics family.
A 1974 LVC graduate, Dr. Angstadt is vice-chair of the LVC Board of Trustees and has served on the board since 1998. She is the retired supervisor of pupil services at the Capital Area Intermediate Unit. Dr. Angstadt has been a long-time avid supporter of LVC basketball, and her love for the College and its athletics exemplifies the ideals put forth by Hot Dog Frank.
The award is given annually at the halftime of a men's basketball games, presented by the Aftosmes family and President Lewis Thayne, with the tradition of free hot dogs for all fans after the game.
