ANNVILLE, Pa. - A tough University of Scranton team proved to be too much for Lebanon Valley College in an 8-1 women's tennis decision.
The Dutchmen (1-1) scored their only point at No. 1 singles, where Scranton's Emily Walsh was forced to retire against
Amelia Capuano. The Royals battled to a 3-0 doubles lead, then won the rest of singles in straight sets.
LVC fought hard in singles, including a 6-3, 7-5 scoreline at No. 3 for
Lori Noble against Nicole Mehaffey, and
Marla Scacchitti's 7-5, 6-3 defeat at No. 6 to Emily Machado.
