OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Lebanon Valley closed out the fall semester with wins at Stevenson in the first meeting between the teams.
It was the first-ever swim meet between the two schools as Stevenson established its program this year and was hosting its first home event. The women won by a 96-89 score in a close meet, the men won 142-12.
Marie Gorman won the 1,000-yard free in 13:14.87, then touched first in the 500 at 6:27.13.
Alayna Kalinay, the reigning ECAC Swimmer of the Week, won the 200-yard free (2:15.57).
Lauren Skorupski captured the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:17.03.
The women's 200-yard free relay won in 1:54.80 powered by
Leslie Hiller's 28.32 lead-off;
Kendall Mehaffey,
Katie Frace, and
Brianna Cosgrove joined her on the relay.
Ian Lloyd was just off the program record in the 100-yard butterfly, winning in 54.79, while
Ian Jackson notched a 12:33.66 time in the 1,000-yard free, and
David Corvino 52.67 in the 100-free. David Brock took two events with a 2:04.94 time in the 200-yard free and a 1:00.14 in the 100-yard back.
Chris Kurtz also won twice with a quick 2:06.68 in the 200-yard IM and a 5:09.32 in the 500-yard free.
Blade Umstead scored a 1:14.73 win in the 100-breaststroke.
Both men's relays were uncontested as LVC's top 200-medley team of
Bryce Betz,
Bobby Burkhart, Jonathan Fogelman, and
Ari Gouskos touched in 1:52.43, and the 200-free with Lloyd,
Nate Ginder, Kurtz, and Umstead hit in 1:33.82.
LVC will break for finals and the holidays before returning to the pool Jan. 8 at home against Misericordia.
