ANNVILLE, Pa. - The men picked up their second win in three meets as some outstanding individual performances led Lebanon Valley against King's on Friday.
The men's team won by a 138-63 score, while King's captured the women's meet 120-75.
Freshman
Ian Lloyd swam LVC's fastest 200-IM in 21 years, nearly breaking the long-standing program record with a 2:19.34. That was only 0.28 seconds off of Hall of Famer Howie Spangler's mark of 2:19.06 set in 1993. Lloyd earned that victory not long after winning the 800-meter free in 9:27.18.
Chris Kurtz won the 200-meter free in 2:07.05 in a 1-2 finish with
Adam Brock, then took the 400-meter free in 4:27.44, less than two seconds off the program record.
David Corvino and
Ari Gouskos finished at the front of the 50-meter free in 25.99 and 26.96, respectively.
Clay Heebner won the 100-meter fly in 1:02.22 with
Blade Umstead in second, while Gouskos took the 100-meter back in 1:08.02 ahead of
Bryce Betz (1:08.48). Both men's relays won, with the 200-meter medley relay touching in 1:58.28 and the 200-meter free in 1:44.79.
The women's 200-meter free relay provided their lone event win, as
Leslie Hiller,
Katie Frace,
Charis Roberts, and
Lauren Skorupski touched in 2:05.21.
Lauren Skorupski took second in the 100-meter breaststroke in one of the night's best races, finishing in 1:22.83 just a quarter-second off King's Rachel Jonas.
Alayna Kalinay was second in the 100-meter back (1:15.15), as was
Kendall Mehaffey in the 100-meter free (1:07.74). Hiller was the runner-up in the 50-free (30.65), while the 200-medley relay (Kalinay, Skorupski, Frace, Roberts) was second in 2:17.66.
LVC is back in action Nov. 25 at home against Elizabethtown.
