READING, Pa. – Senior Cailtin Bach posted a career-high 26 points to lead the Lebanon Valley women's basketball team to a 64-61 win over Alvernia in Reading on Saturday afternoon.

Bach was a dominant force in the paint, knocking down 10-of-14 shots from the field and draining six of her eight free throw attempts. Joining Bach in double figures was freshman Lexie Lantz with 11 points for the Valley. Bach and Lantz were also instrumental in the rebounding battle on the day as they posted nine and five boards, respectively. LVC held a 38-27 edge on the glass.

After a back-and-forth opening 12 minutes, the Valley kicked it into another gear to close out the first half with a 17-7 run and a 32-24 lead. However, it didn't take long for the Crusaders to climb back into the contest as free throws from Kaitlyn Yoh at the 10:54 mark tied it up at 44 apiece.

With 2:35 to play in the game and the Dutchmen down one, sophomore Alyssa Cirucci found space from beyond the arc. Her shot was off the mark, but sophomore Peyton Carper grabbed the rebound, eventually leading to a Lantz layup at the 1:37 mark to grab the lead back at 62-61.

Following an Alvernia turnover on the ensuing possession, senior Lauren Ruhl stepped up big, draining a jumper with 26 seconds to play to put the Dutchmen up three and, with solid defense to close it out, seal Alvernia's fate with a 64-61 LVC victory.

With the win, the Valley moves to 14-3 on the year and 8-2 in Commonwealth Conference action.

Next up for LVC is the seventh annual Pink Game on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. inside LVC Gymnasium against Widener.
