Box Score Field Hockey
Drew Fall Festival
Cabrini 4, Lebanon Valley 3

MADISON, N.J. - Lebanon Valley controlled much of the game, but a three-goal second half by Cabrini sank the Dutchmen in a 4-3 setback at the Drew Fall Festival.

Lyndee Sheaffer scored twice and Lauren Brumbach converted a penalty stroke as the Dutchmen (0-2) outshot Cabrini (1-1) by a 23-10 margin.

Cabrini's Taylor Carroll opened the scoring in the 18th minute on a deflection, but Brumbach leveled eight minutes later with her stroke conversion to send the teams to the half tied 1-1.

The Cavaliers started the second half when Kerry Anne Farrell pounced on a misplayed ball to take a 2-1 lead, but Sheaffer went far post on an empty cage from Melissa Brosious' pass for her first in the 44th minute. Cabrini quickly retook the lead, however, on Jen Webb's rightside shot just over a minute later, and Farrell made it 4-2 in the 57th minute off Karlie Gruccio's pass.

Sheaffer tried to spark a comeback with a diving hit with 3:27 remaining, but the Cavs managed to repel three LVC shots and a penalty corner in the final three minutes to win.

Chloe Baro (2 saves) and Kendra Moll (1 save) split time in goal. Genevieve Paulin stopped four for the Cavs. Brumbach led the offense with nine shots, and Lauren Grauer took four.

LVC will visit Haverford on Wednesday.
