No. 22 Lebanon Valley College 65, Arcadia University 39
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Senior
Caitlin Bach posted her fourth double-double of the season as the Lebanon Valley women's basketball team routed Arcadia on Wednesday afternoon inside LVC Gymnasium, 65-39.
Bach recorded 11 points on 5-of-15 shooting and added 15 rebounds as she cleaned up the glass all day for the Dutchmen. The senior also garnered a season-high five blocks on the defensive end.
Sophomore
Peyton Carper and freshman
Lexie Lantz joined Bach in the double-figure scoring column with 15 and 11 points, respectively, and sophomore
Taylor Umbrell added eight points and seven rebounds.
Other than a three-pointer from junior
Kiely Chaklos at the 18:56 mark, the game started slowly as just five points were scored in the first four minutes. Carper's jumper at the 10:43 mark sparked a 9-3 Valley run that catapulted LVC into a comfortable 37-22 halftime advantage.
LVC did not let up in the second half as solid defense accompanied with poor shooting from the Knights all day made a comeback effort difficult. Arcadia went just 13-for-48 from the floor on the afternoon (27.1%) and made just two of its 10 three-point attempts, falling by a final score of 65-39.
The Valley outrebounded Arcadia, ripping down a season-high 56 rebounds compared to 31 for the Knights and went 26-for-68 from the field (38.2%).
The win is LVC's fourth straight and moves the Dutchmen to 3-0 in league play and 8-1 on the year overall.
Next up for Lebanon Valley is a non-conference battle with Susquehanna on Jan. 2 at 6 p.m. inside LVC Gymnasium.
