Hot-Shooting Dutchmen Drop Arcadia, 92-75

Box Score Men's Basketball
Lebanon Valley 92, Arcadia 75

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley drilled 13 three-pointers to cruise to a much-needed Commonwealth Conference win over Arcadia, 92-75, on Wednesday.

Led by Kevin Agnew's 32 points, his second consecutive 30+ point performance, the Dutchmen (2-6, 1-2 CC) had to rely heavily on guard play, with no one over 6-3 on the floor as starting forward Joey Giangiobbe and center Nate Dawson were out of the lineup.

The lack of post options didn't matter as LVC shot a red-hot 10-of-16 beyond the arc in the first half and 13-of-29 for the game, on the way to a 50 percent shooting day overall. LVC's 29 attempted three pointers were just one short of the program record. LVC out-rebounded Arcadia 39-30 despite the size disadvantage, including 10 offensive boards.

Five players hit double digits for LVC along with Agnew, as Luke Berguson, Kevin Donahue, and Travis Conrad each had 12 and Kyler Burke scored 10. Agnew added seven assists to his 32 points, and Berguson came a rebound shy of a double-double to lead all players with nine. Joey Brown led the Knights (4-5, 0-3 CC) with a 28-point effort.

The Dutchmen led wire-to-wire, jumping out to a quick start and building the lead to 58-45 at halftime, their largest lead to that point. An early 9-2 run in the second half pushed the lead to 73-57, and a Donahue jumper followed by Conrad's three-point play at the midpoint of the half put LVC up 16 on their way to a 20-point lead late after Berguson's jumper with 3:18 remaining.

LVC continued its hot shooting at the foul line, making 21-of-26 (80.8%) for the game while Arcadia struggled with 10-of-18 shooting. The Knights also aired the ball out with nine three-pointers, including three by John Landro.

The Dutchmen will finish off 2013 Saturday, hosting Delaware Valley at 2 p.m.
