ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Led by 10 event wins, Lebanon Valley swam to a split with Elizabethtown Tuesday night, with the men winning 122-79 and the women falling 121-84.
The men improved to 4-2 with their third straight victory, while the women fell to 2-4 overall this season.
The men led off with a win in the 200-yard medley relay as
Adam Brock,
Bobby Burkhart,
Clay Heebner, and
Dan Weinel touched first in 1:46.47, and they racked up four more individual victories. Brock won the first of two events with the 200-free in 2:00.81 ahead of teammate
Matt Dwyer, and
David Corvino captured the 50-free in 23.99 with Weinel a spot behind in 24.16. Heebner took the 100-fly in 57.22, and Brock added the 100-back in 59.84.
The men's 200-free relay capped the meet with a 1:35.65 victory behind Corvino,
Garrett Collins, Weinel, and
Blade Umstead.
Jan Ikeda paced the women with a pair of events wins, including a dramatic finish in the 200-free where she out-touched E-town's Rachel Engelhardt by nine-hundreths of a second to win in 2:04.40. Ikeda also won the 100-fly in 1:01.21, and
Alicia Hain took the 200-IM in 2:24.64.
The women's 200-free relay (Ikeda,
Kyra Valent,
Noelle Brossman, Hain) took first in 1:47.94 to finish off their meet.
LVC will break from competition until the new year, holding their annual Alumni Meet Dec. 7 before returning at Misericordia on Jan. 9.
