WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley swam to a split with King's Friday night, as depth carried the men's team to a victory.
The men (3-2) won by a 116-83 score, and the women (2-3) fell 115-87 to the hosts.
The men started off with a win by the 400-yard medley relay, as
Matt Dwyer,
Bobby Burkhart,
Clay Heebner, and
Dan Weinel swam to a 3:56.50 time.
Adam Brock won two events, the 200-yard free in 1:53.98 and the 200-yard backstroke in 2:10.93, and Heebner later took the 200-yard fly in 2:08.63. Burkhart added a 200-yard breaststroke win in 2:24.78.
The LVC men had depth in virtually every event, including three of the top four in the 1,000-yard free (
Ian Jackson, Dwyer, and Mike Meck), the 200-yard free (Brock,
Garrett Collins, and Heebner), 200-yard backstroke (Brock,
Blade Umstead, and
Bryce Betz), and the 50-yard free (Weinel,
David Corvino, and Tim Carroll)
King's won all but one event on the women's side, as the LVC 400-yard free relay won in 4:07.50 behind
Alayna Kalinay,
Krysteena Koller,
Noelle Brossman, and
Kyra Valent.
Julia Mongeau took the 200-yard breaststroke in exhibition (2:52.35). Valent snagged second in the 1,000-free (11:51.33), and
Jan Ikeda was just out-touched in both the 200-free (2:04.36) and 200-fly (2:17.81) by less than two-tenths in each.
LVC will visit Elizabethtown on Nov. 26.
