Lebanon Valley 90, Lycoming 86

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - A late push led by double-doubles from Matt O'Brien and Danny Brooks gave Lebanon Valley a 90-86 win over first-place Lycoming.

The Dutchmen (6-8, 3-4 CC) had their best offensive night of the season, scoring a season-high 90 points on 57.9% shooting - including 73% in the second half - to knock off the Warriors (11-3, 5-2 CC), who led inside of two minutes left.

O'Brien went the unconvential route to his double-double, scoring 26 points with 10 assists, while Brooks scored 28 to go with 13 rebounds. O'Brien's rare points-assists mark was the first of his career, and the first for LVC since Joe Meehan '12 did it in 2010-11, also against Lycoming.

Kevin Agnew added 15 points and nine assists as the Dutchmen dished 29 helpers overall, five short of the program record; Joey Giangiobbe pitched in nine points and 10 rebounds.

Kevin Anthony led Lycoming with 21 points and 12 boards, while Jerald Williams handed out 19 assists. Patrick Dougher scored 18 off the bench.

LVC led early on before a big Lycoming run outscored the Dutchmen 12-0 on the way to an 11-point halftime lead at 46-35.

The Dutchmen slowly chipped away at the lead in the second half, finally closing the gap with an 11-2 run mid-half to tie the game 71-71. The lead swung both ways from there, with Lycoming up by four with 3:08 left before a Brooks layup and a huge three-pointer by O'Brien with 1:34 left gave LVC a lead it wouldn't give up. Agnew and Brooks combined for five straight free throws in the final minute to lead 89-83 before Ihsaan Davis' three-pointer with six seconds to go made it a three-point game, but O'Brien iced it at the line and Dougher missed a last-gasp three.

Lycoming took a whopping 32 more shots than LVC, and the Dutchmen suffered 23 turnovers, but the visitors' efficiency in the paint and on the outside made the difference as LVC poured in 52 points from the inside and shot 6-of-12 for three.

LVC returns home Saturday to face Albright at 2 p.m.
