Box Score Men's Basketball
Alvernia 83, Lebanon Valley 64

READING, Pa. - A hot-shooting Alvernia was too much for Lebanon Valley to handle as the Dutchmen fell 83-64 in Commonwealth Conference play.

The Dutchmen (3-5, 2-3 CC) couldn't contain the Crusaders (4-2, 2-2 CC) on the perimeter as the hosts connected on 10 of 19 three-point chances.

Freshman Kyler Burke led LVC with a career-high 16 points to go with six rebounds, and Kevin Agnew scored 15, including a perfect 10-for-10 night at the line. Danny Brooks had 10 points and seven rebounds as LVC was held to 37.3% shooting overall, including 8-for-28 (28.6%) in the first half.

Terrance Bridgers was lights-out for Alvernia, scoring 21 points, and Kahlil Bennett drained six of his seven three-point shots for 19 points. Brian Parker's 13-point, 10-rebound double-double anchored the Crusaders in the paint.

LVC never led in the game as Alvernia rushed out to an early lead, doubling up LVC 22-11 by the midpoint of the first half and hanging onto a double-digit lead into the break up 42-30.

The Dutchmen hung in to start the second half, but after Brooks' layup at the 17:56 mark, Alvernia went on a 7-0 run capped by a Bennett trey to take full control of the game. LVC never got closer than 12 the rest of the way as the Crusaders' lead grew to as much as 24 in the closing minutes.

LVC will return home Sunday, Dec. 16 to host Misericordia.
