ANNVILLE, Pa. - Two new program records were set by the women's team to lead Lebanon Valley in a split with Cabrini Friday night.
The women cruised to a 131-60 win, while Cabrini came out on top in a tight men's meet, 102.5-95.5.
Jan Ikeda reset her program record in the 100-free, winning in 1:02.53, slipping under her previous best of 1:02.60 set last December. Later in the meet, she led off the 200-free relay with
Noelle Brossman,
Alicia Hain, and Giovanna Ortiz that hit the wall first in 1:58.80 to shave 19-hundreths off the previous mark set last year.
Those were just two of nine event wins for the women included
Kris Roaten in the 800-free (11:14.19), Ikeda in the 100-free (1:02.53) and 200-free (2:16.49),
Mary Gardner in the 50-free (29.86), Hain in the 100-fly (1:14.32), Brossman in the 100-back (1:14.43), and
Kerri Bailey in the 400-free (5:19.10). Gardner was also first in exhibition in the 100-breast (1:24.75), while the 200 medley relay (Brossman, Mongeau, Hain, Gardner) won in 2:16.90.
Clayton Heebner highlighted the men's meet with a win in the 100-fly, coming within 16-hundreths of a second of the LVC record with a 1:02.69 time, and he later won the 400-free in 4:43.76.
Ian Jackson added an 800-free win in 10:04.24, with
Matt Dwyer taking the 200-IM in 2:35.03. The men's 200-free relay (Dwyer,
Blade Umstead,
David Corvino,
Dan Weinel) capped the meet with a 1:45.74 victory.
LVC will host King's Nov. 16 at 5 p.m.
