Big Second Half Pushes Moravian By LVC, 79-65

Box Score Men's Basketball
Moravian 79, Lebanon Valley 65

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A 20-4 run by Moravian in the latter part of the second half lifted the Greyhounds to a 79-65 win over Lebanon Valley on Sunday.

The Dutchmen (2-2) were once again buoyed by Danny Brooks' 22 points and eight rebounds, and Kevin Agnew poured in 15 points including three three-pointers. All five of Moravian's starters scored in double digits, led by Garrett Johnson's 15.

Tied at 54-54 midway through the second half, Moravian hit their run sparked by a pair of Kenny Gula three-pointers while holding LVC to just two baskets - by Brooks and Matt O'Brien - over an eight-minute span to push their lead to 74-58 at the 3:04 mark.

Moravian shined at the line, going 20-for-22; LVC went just nine times, shooting six-for-nine. Both teams shot well from the floor, with the 'Hounds winding up at 48.1% - including 7-for-15 from beyond the arc - and LVC 46.6% overall.

O'Brien finished with 12 points and six boards; Ryan Kinard scored eight in 26 minutes off the bench before fouling out in the closing minutes. Big men Aaron Thieme (13 pts, 9 rbs) and Cameron Cullen (10 pts, 9 rbs) controlled the paint for Moravian, both posting near double-doubles.

LVC returns home Wednesday to host Messiah in a Commonwealth Conference game at 8 p.m.
