Lebanon Valley 2, Arcadia 0
GLENSIDE, Pa. – Morgan Miller and
Lindi Crist scored first-half goals for Lebanon Valley and carried the team to a 2-0 win over Arcadia in the final match of the regular season Saturday.
The result, combined with Elizabethtown's double-overtime win at Widener Saturday night, means that LVC will be the fourth seed in the Commonwealth Conference tournament, hosting Albright on Monday at a time to be announced - however, due to the incoming Hurricane Sandy, that match's date may shift. The winner of that game will head to #1 Messiah for the semifinals, scheduled to be played on Wednesday.
In the final two matches of the season, Miller scored four goals. Saturday's score, which came off a pass from
Nicole Snyder in the seventh minute, went on to serve as the game winner for LVC (10-6-1, 6-2-1 CC).
Crist put the Dutchmen up 2-0 on an unassisted goal in the 38
th minute. The goal was her third of the season.
LVC was able to outshoot Arcadia (10-6-3, 4-4-1) 16-2.
Sami Young started in goal and needed to make just a single save to help secure the win.
