ANNVILLE, Pa. – Morgan Miller put on a Senior Day performance – earning a hat trick and an assist to help guide Lebanon Valley to an 8-0 shutout over Widener Wednesday night.

While the win doesn't clinch a playoff spot, it puts the Dutchmen (9-6-1, 5-2-1 CC) in position to play their way in on Saturday in the final match of the regular season at Arcadia.

The Dutchmen got to scoring early Wednesday. Just moments after pregame speeches, Miller crossed a ball in to fellow senior Brittany Flood, who scored on a quick chip.

Miller helped extend the lead with a pair of goals of her own scored in the sixth and 21st minutes of the match. The first came off a deflected shot by Nicole Snyder, and the second came unassisted off the hands of the goalkeeper.

Sara Shissler rebounded and scored on a deflected shot by Lindi Crist in the 42nd minute to round out the team's scoring and send them to halftime with a 4-0 lead.

Miller struck for her third and final time nearly four minutes in the second half on a shot over the keeper off a cross from Amanda Douglass. Snyder became the third senior to score a minute and a half later on a quick-flick pass from Flood.

Freshmen Raeanne LaFlame and Shissler closed out the team's scoring with goals in the 72nd and 78th minutes. LaFlame hit to the top of the net at the far post on a cross from Heather Tran. Schissler hit a liner off a pass from Jess Kleeschulte minutes later.

The game was full of big numbers. The Dutchmen outshot the Pride (5-10-1, 2-6) 35-15, using all 26 players on the roster in the process.

Miller's seven total points put her in a tie for the second best single-game performance in LVC women's soccer history. At the other end of her collegiate career, Schissler recorded her first game with multiple goals.

Seniors honored during pregame ceremonies included Flood, Caitlin Harman, Stevi Laird, Sarah Lloyd, Erin McCarthy, Miller, and Snyder.

Saturday's match at Arcadia is scheduled for 1 p.m.
