Lebanon Valley 81, Stevenson 60
STEVENSON, Md. - Twenty-point efforts by
Joe Meehan,
Danny Brooks, and
Jordan Stewart helped Lebanon Valley cruise past Stevenson, 81-60, in non-conference play on Saturday.
Despite missing starters
Cameron Prince and
Joey Giangiobbe, the Dutchmen (8-5) enjoyed a red-hot 57 percent shooting night, led by Brooks' 22-point, 16-rebound effort and a 24-point, seven-assist game from Meehan. Stewart added 20 points and six boards.
LVC had its best three-point shooting game of the year, canning seven of 11 from beyond the arc. Meehan's 24 points pushed him to 1,414 career points, making him the ninth player in program history to surpass 1,400 points. Sam Diaz earned his first career start for Prince, while
David Corbin started his second straight game for Giangiobbe.
Matt O'Brien added eight points off the bench, including a pair of three-pointers.
Leading 21-19 with 6:34 left in the first half, Lebanon Valley ended the half on an impressive 25-5 run that began with six straight shots falling for them and included eight straight points on a layup and back-to-back treys by Stewart. The Dutchmen never let the Mustangs (3-9) back into the game, holding the lead above 17 points for the entire second half.
Led by 13 points apiece by Brandon Carroll and Brett Burrier, Stevenson was held to 37.1 percent shooting as LVC generated 11 steals off 18 Mustang turnovers. Stevenson shot just 9-of-17 at the line.
LVC will get back to Commonwealth Conference play Wednesday night, visiting Lycoming.
