ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley picked up a couple of wins Saturday, getting past FDU-Florham for victories by both the men's and women's teams at the Arnold Sports Center.
The women won all but one event in their 115-76 victory to improve to 6-4 in dual meets this season, while the men came out ahead 119-64 for their second dual win of the season at 2-8.
Jan Ikeda set her ninth school record of the season, this time in the 200-meter IM. The freshman won in 2:33.67 to best the old mark of 2:37.66 set last season by teammate
Julia Mongeau. Ikeda also won the 100-backstroke in 1:12.90, while Mongeau later came first in the 100-breaststroke with a 1:22.38 time.
Alicia Hain took two events with the 800-meter free in 10:37.10 and 400-free in 5:04.08, and
Kris Roaten was also a double winner, touching first in the 200-free in 2:27.19 before capturing the 100-fly in 1:15.74.
Mary Gardner won the 100-free in 1:06.66 to go with second in the 50-free at 29.85.
In relay action, the 200-meter medley team of Hain, Gardner, Ikeda, and
Noelle Brossman was first in 2:16.76, and the 200-free relay (
Kristen Zartman,
Gabbie Groff, Brossman, Mongeau) won in 2:06.43.
The men won seven events, led by
Matt Dwyer's wins in the 100-fly (1:09.16) and 100-free (1:04.87).
Joseph Chubb led the 100-backstroke in 1:14.28
Ryan Humphries was first in the 800-free in 10:33.88, and
Collin Straka won the 50-free in 27.16
The 200-medley relay of Chubb,
Eliott Bonds, Dwyer, and Straka won in 2:05.82, and the 200-free team of Straka, Chubb,
Tyler Wells, and
Brett Frazier was first in 2:00.89.
LVC will swim once more before MAC Championships, hosting Messiah on Senior Day Jan. 28.
