ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - A second-half surge by Elizabethtown broke open a close game and sent Lebanon Valley to a 74-61 loss in Commonwealth Conference action Wednesday night.

The Dutchmen (9-7, 2-3 CC) fell to 2-5 on the road this season as the Blue Jays (6-9, 2-3 CC) pulled away early in the second half with a 12-0 run after leading 35-32 at the half.

Danny Brooks led the Dutchmen with 18 points, and Cameron Prince added 16. Jordan Stewart contributed 13 points and eight boards, Matt O'Brien had six points and as many rebounds. LVC couldn't capitalize on 35 trips to the line, making just 19 (.543) while shooting .408 overall from the floor.

E-town's Joe Schwalm led all scorers with 21 points, and Will Schlosser had 13 with Andrew Mantz recording a 12-point, 12-rebound double-double. The Blue Jays shot 9-for-26 for three.

The game was a back-and-forth contest in the first half, but stayed close until E-town's early second-half run was keyed by long balls from Ben Cable, Schwalm, and Schlosser.

Elizabethtown led by as much as 18, but LVC slowly chipped away and had a chance in the closing minutes as they closed to within eight on Meehan's 12-footer with two minutes remaining. Schlosser made a jumper at the other end, however, to re-establish the lead at 10, and the Blue Jays held LVC without a field goal for the remainder of the game to hold on for the win.

LVC visits Albright on Saturday.
