SCRANTON, Pa. - Sarah Dowhower picked an opportune time for her first collegiate goal, heading home a corner kick in the 87th minute to lift Lebanon Valley past Marywood 2-1 on Sunday.

The Dutchmen (3-1) took nine of their 13 shots in the second half while looking for the gamewinner, finally breaking through when Stevi Laird served up a late corner kick for Dowhower.

Heather Tran had opened the scoring in the eighth minute off assists by Laird and Allison Korns, but Marywood's Olivia Habicht leveled the game at 1-1 in the 35th minute.

Laird's two assists finished an impressive two-game weekend for her after she scored twice against Scranton yesterday. LVC went 1-1 in two games as part of the Joe Bochicchio Classic taking place at Scranton and Marywood.

Becca Sykes made two saves to earn the win for LVC, while Emily Osborne also stopped two for the Pacers. LVC led 13-8 on shots and Marywood had a 3-1 edge on corners.

LVC will head back to Northeast Pennsylvania on Thursday to visit Wilkes.
