ANNVILLE, Pa. - A total team scoring effort pushed #8 Lebanon Valley to 10-1 as the Dutchmen cruised past Frostburg State 73-43 in non-conference play on Thursday.

The Dutchmen roll into the new year with 10 wins for the second straight season, getting points from 11 different players in the process. LVC held the Bobcats (3-9) to 29 percent shooting as they held their opponent under 50 points for the eighth time in 11 games this season.

Freshman Kiely Chaklos led all players with 13 points, and Tierney Hiltz stuffed the stat sheet with eight points, six assists, and four steals. Caitlin Murphy had six points to go with a career-high 12 rebounds as the Dutchmen dominated the glass 60-39, while Liz Borgia and Renee Fritz each had 10-point, six-rebound efforts. Elaina Hummel led Frostburg with 11 points.

LVC benefited from 26 points off the bench, including seven from Gia Russo and five by Caitlin Bach.

Lebanon Valley established its inside presence early, outrebounding the Bobcats 32-17 in the first half and using the fastbreak to flip an early 6-4 deficit into a 20-8 lead with a 14-2 run early in the half.

The lead only got bigger from there as solid passing by LVC blew the advantage up to 45-20 at the half. Despite some disruptive second-half defense, the Bobcats couldn't find their shooting touch as the Dutchmen extended their lead up to as much as 36 points late in the half.

The Dutchmen start 2012 at home with a key non-conference match-up, hosting local rival Franklin & Marshall on Monday, Jan. 2 at 6 p.m.
