ANNVILLE, Pa. - LVC's men picked up their first win of the season as Lebanon Valley swept DeSales on Friday night.
The men edged DeSales 84-74, and the women cruised 143-34 to improve to 4-1 this season.
Freshman
Jan Ikeda added another program record to her collection, smashing the 200-meter butterfly mark with a 2:28.98 exhibition, nearly 16 seconds under the old mark of 2:44.48. She also swam 1:03.77 in the 100-fly, just seven-hundreths over her personal best and again under the NCAA B qualifying cut.
The women led off with an event win the 200-medley relay, with
Alicia Hain,
Julia Mongeau, Ikeda, and
Mary Gardner winning 2:12.79. That was the first of nine event wins for the Dutchmen, including
Noelle Brossman in the 50-free in 30.68,
Charlie Robinson picked in the 100-free in 1:09.32, and
Kris Roaten in the 800-free in 10:38.00.
Hain won the 100-backstroke in 1:15.13, and Gardner won the 100-breaststroke in 1:25.94. The women had uncontested wins by Mongeau in the 200-IM (2:43.35) and 400-free (5:05.73), Ikeda in the 100-fly
For the men,
Erik Brandt won the 100-breaststroke in 1:20.53, and LVC had uncontested wins by
Matt Dwyer in the 200-IM (2:38.94) and 100-fly (1:11.42) as he led the men's team with 22 points.
LVC will visit Elizabethtown on Tuesday night.
