Jan Ikeda made the NCAA B-cut in the 100-meter fly, becoming in the first swimmer in program history to do so as Lebanon Valley took on Marywood Friday night.
The team results were split, with LVC's women winning 107-98 and the men falling 139-54.
Ikeda finished in 1:03.70, well under the NCAA 25-meter B-cut of 1:04.48, with the A-cut standing at 1:02.40. She took just under a second off her previous best and school-record 1:04.69. It capped a terrific night for Ikeda, who also set a new school record in the 200-free at 2:14.01 and swam a 29.07 fly split in the 200-medley relay to help them win in 2:11.96.
Alicia Hain won the 100-backstroke in 1:13.39 and she led off the 200-medley relay with
Julia Mongeau, Ikeda, and
Mary Gardner to win 2:11.96. LVC's women got the team win on depth, with nine second-place finishes scoring points along with their four event wins.
The men picked up a pair fo event wins as Matthew Dwyer won the 100-backstroke in 1:08.11, and
Erik Brandt was first in the 100-breaststroke in 1:20.34. The Dutchmen had several second-place finishes, including Dwyer in the 200-free (2:16.97),
Ryan Humphries in the 800-free (11:01.98) and 100-fly (1:14.33),
Shane Miller in the 50-free (27.63), and the 200-medley relay of
Joseph Chubb, Brandt, Dwyer, and Miller (2:05.24).
LVC will host DeSales on Oct. 19.
