If You Only Know Five Things...
1. The Dutchmen are bidding to go 5-1 for the second time in three years and only the third time since 1979. Lebanon Valley is also going for its fourth straight Oktoberfest Weekend victory, a feat that has not been done since 1976.
2. Ben Guiles, the MAC Offensive Player of the Week, scored all three touchdowns in LVC's 24-17 comeback win at Albright last weekend, rushing for 120 yards and catching two TDs for 83 yards.
3. Guiles is second in the nation in scoring; he is also 20 points away from becoming LVC's all-time leading scorer and two touchdowns from becoming the combined rushing and receiving TD leader.
4. Colt Zarilla is coming off a career-high 264 yards passing vs. Albright. He has thrown 10 touchdowns this season to just three interceptions.
5. Tim Picerno is also coming off a career-best game, catching three passes for 137 yards last week, the first wide receiver to go over 125 yards since 2008.

Series History
Saturday's game is the 15th meeting all-time ... LVC leads the series 9-5 ... LVC is 5-3 against FDU-Florham at Arnold Field ... This will be the ninth consecutive meeting since the series resumed in 2001 ... The first meeting was Oct. 7, 1983 in Madison, an 18-17 LVC win ... Coach Jim Monos is 7-1 against the Devils ... LVC is 7-8 on Oct. 16 ... LVC has won three in a row on Oktoberfest Weekend, including last year's win over the Devils ... They are meeting at Arnold Field for the second straight year due to an imbalance in the 2011 MAC schedule with the addition of Stevenson University.

Noting LVC's Offense
LVC's offense was helped at Albright by the return of LG Brendan Kozub and WR Joey Miller ... The offensive two-deep is expected to be unchanged from a week ago, although back-up RB Pete Panichi is expected to be out ... Despite the running game being held to a season-low 100 net yards, Ben Guiles had 120 yards on a season-high 25 carries ... Other than Guiles, only Pete Panichi (1 carry, 1 yard) and Evan Fink (2 carries, -1 yard) got touches ... Colt Zarilla had another sterling performance, completing 11 of 17 attempts for 264 yards and two touchdowns, both to Guiles ... He had two key long completions in the fourth quarter, first a 67-yard bomb to Tim Picerno, and then a short out to Guiles that turned into an 80-yard catch-and-run ... He averaged a whopping 24 yards per completion ... Zarilla took three sacks in the game ... Picerno had a career game with 137 yards on just three catches ... Miller led all receivers with five grabs for 33 yards ... Guiles ended up with 83 yards receiving ... TE Matt Mankiewicz also had a catch for 11 yards ... LVC possessed the ball for just 22:51 at Albright, including only 2:45 in the fourth quarter ... They scored on all three red zone chances ... With injuries taking a toll on the unit, LVC put out its fourth different starting o-line in five games ... C Sam Colletts and RG Matt Clark are the only two linemen to start all five games.

Noting LVC's Defense
One two-deep change for the defense against FDU-Florham as OLB Andrew Hurst returns to start ... Hurst played and had five tackles vs. Albright after missing the Stevenson game ... LVC held Albright, which was averaging 299 yards passing per game, to just 10-for-25 for 95 yards in the air ... Although the Dutchmen didn't force a turnover, they broke up eight passes ... ILB Jason Gigous led all players with 11 tackles, including nine solo stops ... NT Kevin Smith, who has started the last two games for injured Nick Bowne, had 10 tackles ... ILB Clay Chaney had a big game with seven tackles and two bust-ups, including the game-ending swat on fourth-down ... CB Ryan Melley also had a key end-zone break-up on third down during Albright's final series ... CB Jerome Duncan also had a career game with six tackles (one for a loss) and a break-up ... The defense made two big second-half stands to force turnovers on downs, including one at midfield in the third quarter that sparked LVC's comeback run ... Their performance came despite spending 37:09 on the field, by far a season-high and the most in a game for the Dutchmen since 2007 (40:03 vs. Delaware Valley).

Noting LVC's Specialists
Sean Fakete had a career-long 35-yard field goal to start LVC's 17-0 run in the second half at Albright ... It was LVC's longest field goal since 2003 ... He also missed a 42-yard bid in the first half just to the left ... Fakete was 3-for-3 on PATs ... The kick return game was excellent again, with Pete Panichi taking the opening kickoff 57 yards after a trick play pass from Jake Zeigler ... With Panichi out vs. FDU-Florham, Kelly Saylor is expected to partner Zeigler ... LVC ranks ninth in NCAA Division III in kickoff returns (26.2 yards per return) ... LVC had trouble with punt returns, however, committing its only turnover of the game on a muffed return that led to an Albright touchdown ... Colt Zarilla punted four times for a 42.2 yard average with two touchbacks.

An Emotional Win
While the LVC-Albright rivalry always brings out passions on both sides, last week's win was especially emotional for the Dutchmen. The team was missing its defensive coordinator, Vince Pantalone, as he was in New York to be with his son, LVC freshman Nick Pantalone, as he underwent successful surgery to remove cancer in his abdomen. Head Coach Jim Monos dedicated the win and the game ball to the Pantalones. Meanwhile, in Lancaster, all-time leading rusher Charlie Parker '10 was recovering after being released from intensive care following a car accident on Oct. 2, and his condition was on the minds of many LVC players, many of whom who were his teammates during his career from 2006 to 2009.

Fourth-Quarter Knockout
If you look at everything but the score, the fourth quarter of the LVC-Albright game looked like a sure Lions win. The Dutchmen ran just five offensive plays outside of victory formation; they possessed the ball for only 2:45. But the reality was, LVC's quick-strike capability blew by Albright, using pass plays of 67 and 80 yards to set and score touchdowns, and defensive stops meant the defense bent but did not break.

Guiles Is MAC Player of the Week
On Monday, Ben Guiles was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Player of the Week for the second time this year. Guiles scored all three touchdowns for LVC at Albright, running for 120 yards and catching two passes for 83 yards.

Guiles Goes After More Records
Already breaking the career rushing touchdowns mark, Ben Guiles now has a few more records in his sights. The senior is now just two touchdowns away from breaking the combined TD record of 42 held by Adam Brossman '08 (he currently has 37 rushing and four receiving TDs); he is also 20 points back of Brossman for the all-time scoring record of 266. The rushing yardage mark is a bit further off - Guiles needs 517 yards to surpass Charlie Parker '10's 3,707 yards.

Seniors Go For Four
LVC's senior class has a rare opportunity against FDU-Florham. If they win, they would be the first senior class in 35 years to win all four of their homecoming games, since the Class of '77 won four straight from 1973 to 1976.

Who The Heck Is That?
Fans at Albright were probably confused why a freshman safety named Kevin O'Connell, wearing #81, was being announced after a series of big catches. It wasn't O'Connell - it was the senior they know as #20, Tim Picerno. Finding his new away Nike uniform too constrictive for his liking, Picerno swapped with O'Connell after warm-ups and proceeded to have a career-best 137-yard receiving day. He had just three catches, but they were all big: 44 yards in the first quarter to set up Ben Guiles' seven-yard touchdown on the next play, 26 yards in the second quarter to help set up a field goal attempt, and a 67-yard bomb in the fourth quarter that led to Guiles' game-tying catch three plays later.

LVC Receives Top 25 Votes
The Dutchmen picked up one more vote in the d3football.com top 25 poll after their win at Albright, receiving six votes. LVC picked up five last week and four the week before.

LVC Among National Stat Leaders
Lebanon Valley's name is all over the latest NCAA Division III statistical rankings. Ben Guiles is second in the nation in scoring (15.6 points per game) and second in touchdowns (13). Colt Zarilla is 10th in Division III in passing efficiency at 172.5, while Sean Fakete ranks 36th in field goals, averaging one per game. As a team, LVC in in the top 30 in multiple categories, including kickoff returns (9th, 26.2 ypr), pass efficiency (11th, 171.7), and total offense (27th, 436.8 ypg).

FDU-Florham Quick Look
The Devils have struggled to an 0-5 first half of the season, averaging just 11.8 points per game. Quarterback Ryan Cushman has been a bright spot as both the leading passer and rusher, throwing for 744 yards and five touchdowns and rushing for 193 yards. FDU's spread offense runs four wide receivers, led by Anthony Fruncillo's 197 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, the Devils have allowed at least 45 points in every game this season, giving up 271 yards per game on the ground and 197 yards per game in the air.
