MADISON, N.J. - The LVC women's swim team broke the single-season record for dual-meet wins as Lebanon Valley swept a tri with FDU-Florham and Juniata on Saturday.
The women, swimming against both schools, beat FDU-Florham 46-1 and edged Juniata 46-44 to improve to 7-5 this season, topping the six wins earned in 2005-06 and 2009-10. The men improved to 6-5 with a 101-50 win over FDU-Florham, and stand one win away from tying their most-ever in a season. They did not compete against Juniata.
Lebanon Valley had 14 times that got under MAC Championship qualifying standards, with Jeff Bush earning new qualifying times in the 1,000 free (qualifying for the 1,650 free) and 100 breaststroke.
Among winners in contested events for the men,
John Denniston and Bush went 1-2 in the 1,000 free in 11:24.37 and 11:43.37, respectively.
Ryan Humphries won the 200 free in 2:05.39, and also touched first in the 100 fly in 1:02.37.
Brett Wimmer was a winner in the 100 back in 1:03.56.
Alicia Hain won the women's 500-free in 5:46.83, and the 200-free relay of
Julia Mongeau,
Mary Gardner,
Noelle Brossman, and
Kristen Zartman won in 1:50.20.
LVC has one final tune-up before MACs, visiting Messiah on Jan. 29.
