Women's Basketball
Gallaudet 80, Lebanon Valley 69

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A late surge in regulation by Lebanon Valley sent the game to overtime, but Gallaudet proved too much for the women's basketball team as they fell 80-69 Sunday afternoon in the Bison's Holiday Tournament. Freshman Lauren Ruhl earned all-tournament honors for the Dutchmen.

Four players hit double digit scoring for LVC; Suzie Noyes (18 pts), Tierney Hiltz (15 pts), Andrea Hoover (13 pts) and Lauren Ruhl (10 pts). Noyes went 7-for-12 from the floor and was perfect at the free throw line, while also leading the rebounding effort with 11 total boards. Hiltz added eight steals in Lebanon Valley's first loss of the season.

The Dutchmen opened the game with back-to-back baskets before the Bison went on a 10 point run. Lebanon Valley went on the game's next roll, scoring 10 straight for a one point lead at 16-15. A jumper from Hoover gave LVC its largest lead of the first half at six points, but Gallaudet tallied six of the seven baskets in the final five minutes to claim a 32-27 lead at the break.

Holding the lead for the entire second half, Gallaudet looked for the victory. Four ties in the final 20 minutes of regulation saved LVC and sent the game to overtime. The Dutchmen scored 16 points in the paint, 13 off turnovers and nine from second chance opportunities in the second half.

Gallaudet ran out to its largest lead at eight points with 16:33 remaining in regulation and came close again at 4:20 with seven points. The Bison held a six point advantage late in the game after a layup by Zamica Gage at 1:28. Two free throws from Hoover, and layups from Noyes and Hiltz with under a minute remaining tied the game, forcing overtime.

Opening the extra period with eight straight points and holding the Dutchmen to just two baskets in the five minute period, the Bison posted the 80-69 win to stay perfect on the season.
