ANNVILLE, Pa. - The men's swim team continued their best start in program history, and women's freshman
Alicia Hain broke the program record in the 200-meter free as Lebanon Valley split with Elizabethtown Tuesday night.
The men won 119-85 to improve to 5-2 for the first time since 1989-90, equaling their best start, while the women (5-2) fell for the first time in six meets by a 118-87 score, snapping their program-record five-meet win streak.
Hain's 2:20.94 in the 200 free broke teammate
Kristen Zartman's record of 2:21.14 set last January. It's Hain's third record this year (she also owns the 400-meter free mark and was part of the record-setting 200 free relay team).
The women's 200 medley relay of Hain,
Julia Mongeau,
Ally Birli, and
Mary Gardner led off the meet with a 2:17.37 event win, one of 10 wins overall for the Dutchmen.
For the men,
John Denniston won both distance freestyle events, capturing the 400 by a half-second in 4:46.51 and the 800 in 9:50.68.
