Box Score

YORK, Pa.
- Anthony Trautman drained a career-high 25 points, but it wasn't enough for Lebanon Valley as York pulled away in the second half to win 86-66 in the season opener on Monday.

The Dutchmen (0-1) trailed all game but had cut a 15-point deficit to four early in the second half, but a 12-0 Spartan run midway through the period shut the door on LVC's comeback hopes.

LVC gave away 23 turnovers to York's 11. Trautman added eight boards to his 25 points; Joe Meehan was the only other Dutchman in double digits, scoring 12. Kevin Whley led York with 23 points, and Paul Kouvaris and Jeremy Skoloda scored 19 and 17, respectively.

York led from the start and quickly built an 18-point lead, but LVC slowly chipped away, and a hot start to the second half by Trautman pulled them within four at 51-47 with 15:29 to go in the game.

But things quickly turned York's way as Whaley and Skoloda drilled back-to-back three-pointers, and then hit a 14-2 run to blow open a 20-point lead in a matter of seven minutes.

LVC shot 42.9 percent for the game, cooling off with a 36.4 percent clip in the second after making 52.2 percent in the first half. York had a very good shooting night at 56.1 percent, including 9-for-16 from the outside.  The Dutchmen also led 10 points at the line, shooting 14-for-24.

Lebanon Valley will make its home debut Friday night in the Rinso Marquette Tournament against Penn State Harrisburg.
