ANNVILLE, Pa. - Freshman
Julia Mongeau (100-meter breaststroke) and the women's 200-meter free relay broke school records, and Lebanon Valley turned in 19 individual MAC Championship qualifying times as they opened the 2010-11 season with Albright on Tuesday night.
Albright won both team results, with the men at 113-84 and the women 117-84.
In her first collegiate meet, Mongeau finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:21.18*) to break
Lisa Niethamer '10's 2007 record of 1:21.93. The women's 200 free relay highlighted the end of the meet, as the team of
Charlie Robinson,
Mary Gardner,
Alicia Hain, and
Kristen Zartman won in 2:01.32, edging the old record of 2:01.45 set in 2008.
LVC picked up three individual wins in the distance free events, winning the women's 400 and both 800s. Zartman captured the 400 free in 5:10.09*, and
Kris Roaten touched first in the 800 free in 10:56.17. For the men, freshman
John Denniston got a win in his first collegiate meet, easily winning the 800 free in 10:08.86*.
Jeffrey Bush took first in the 50 free, winning by two-tenths in 25.82*, just seventh-tenths off the school record set in 1993.Â
John Heenan won the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.77* for the men's other individual win.
Other highlights and MAC qualifying times for LVC:
- Zartman placed third in the 200 free, finishing in 2:22.74*, and
Julia Mongeau was a place behind in 2:24.70*.

Noelle Brossman (30.13*),
Mary Gardner (30.33*), and
Gabbie Groff (30.87*) finished 4-5-6 in the 50 free, all qualifying for MACs.
Charlie Robinson also qualified with a 29.86* lead-off split in the 200 free relay.
- Hain and
Kerri Bailey both qualified in the 100 fly, finishing in 1:16.98* and 1:20.22*, respectively. For the men,
Ryan Humphries was third in the event in 1:09.91* to qualify.

Charlie Robinson had a third-place 1:05.91* in the 100 free;
Jeffrey Bush also had a MAC qualifying time in the same event, placing second in 59.10*.
- Matthew Dwyer and
Brett Wimmer both made the MAC standard in the 100 back, finishing 2-3 in 1:10.09* and 1:10.92*, respectively. For the women,
Noelle Brossman finished third in 1:17.88* in the event.

Krysteena Koller was second in the 200 IM in 2:51.90.
- The men's 200 free relay of Bush, Joe Chubb, Denniston, and
Miles Mosher took second in 1:47.73.
LVC visits Arcadia on Saturday.
