Both Lebanon Valley and FDU-Florham enter Saturday's game looking for a win after starting their MAC schedules 0-2. The Dutchmen are coming off a heart-breaking 35-28 overtime to Wilkes last week.

Noting the LVC Defense
The front three of Zach Bleiler, Nick Bowne, and Cory Homer have been outstanding, accounting for 104 tackles, 16.0 TFL, and 7.0 sacks this season ... Bowne had a career game vs. Wilkes with 16 tackles, including two for a loss with a sack ... The linebacking corps has been unsettled on the inside, with Jason Gigous making four starts (30 T), but three different players - AJ Kuhns, DJ Poligone, and Clay Chaney - getting starts at the other spot ... AJ Kuhns is #1 on the depth chart for the FDU-Florham game at inside LB, with Poligone and Chaney out with injuries ... Alex Gilchrist (29 T, 9.0 TFL, 4.0 S) and Bryn Duffield (19 T, 2.0 TFL) have been starting on the outside ... The secondary has produced just two interceptions so far this season after leading the MAC last year (LB Jason Gigous has two as well) ... SS Dane Eichelberger has 26 tackles and two picks to lead the unit ... The LVC defense is second in the MAC in sacks with 13.

Noting the LVC Special Teams
Kevin Greene took over punting duties from Colt Zarilla in week 2 and has been excellent, averaging 35.6 yards per punt and sticking six inside the 20; of his 21 punts, only eight have been returned, for an average of 7.2 yards ... LVC's return game has also been solid as Nic Shirey is averaging 7.8 yards per punt return and 23.5 yards per kick return ... Brittany Ryan is 11-for-13 on PATs ... LVC has not made a field goal this year, with Sean Fakete missing a long try and Matt Nawracaj missing from 21 vs. Wilkes ... Fakete is expected to miss his second straight game, and kick-offs and field goals will be taken by Matt Nawracaj.

Turnover Troubles
A large part of LVC's 2009 success was that they took care of the ball; the Dutchmen were +10 on turnovers last season. In 2010, however, it's been a different story entirely as LVC has developed a case of fumblitis. Lebanon Valley is -11 through five games, including -8 on fumbles alone - they've given away nine bobbles, and recovered just one.

Ryan Sets LVC PAT Mark
Senior K Brittany Ryan has chalked up one record after another in her career, but she got one more against Wilkes as she became LVC's all-time PAT leader, going 4-for-4 in the game. With 79 for her career, she surpassed Doug Zook '92 for the program lead; she also became the all-time leader in PATs attempted, with 92.

Guiles Moves Up
After running for 172 yards against Wilkes on Saturday (the second-best performance of his career), Ben Guiles moved up to fifth on LVC's all-time rushing list with 1,930 yards. He has a chance to become the fifth 2,000-yard rusher in program history.

Fick Reaches 5,000 Yards
Quarterback Caleb Fick had his best passing game of the season against Wilkes, throwing for 206 yards and two touchdowns to become just the second player in program history to surpass 5,000 career passing yards. He joins record-holder Dan Kelly '07 (5,934 yards) as the only other quarterback to reach the milestone.

Bleiler Moves Up Sacks List
Senior DE Zach Bleiler is climbing up the LVC career sacks list, and is now in third place all-time with 20 career sacks. He needs 29 to tie the all-time record held by Karl Conrad '89.

Dan Kelly '07, Bill Winters Now Teammates in Reading
Record-setting LVC quarterback Dan Kelly '07 re-signed with the Reading Express of the Indoor Football League in September, and he'll now be joined by former FDU-Florham quarterback Bill Winters, who was the starting QB for the New Jersey Revolution last season. However, they won't be competing for the same job - Kelly is now a wide receiver for Reading, so the former foes will now be hooking up on offense.

Scouting FDU-Florham
The Devils have been led by the emergence of senior quarterback Matt Jeffers, who has thrown for 949 yards and 10 touchdowns in FDU's pass-heavy offense which ranks second in the MAC behind Delaware Valley. Jeffers is also the team's leading rusher at 163 yards. Four Devil receivers have 150+ yards this year, including Anthony Frucillo (192 yds, 2 TD), Beau Reed (181 yds, 1 TD), Andrew Scamporino (180 yds, 1 TD), and Tim Grey (161 yds, 2 TD). Defensively, FDU-Florham has allowed 372 yards of total offense per game, including 240 yards passing. They have been led by Steve Hoverson, who has a team-best 46 tackles (8.5 for a loss) with two sacks. Matt Porricelli has been one of the league's top defensive backs with three interceptions and four pass break-ups.

Series History
The game is the 14th meeting all-time ... LVC leads the series 8-5 ... LVC is 4-3 against FDU-Florham at Arnold Field ... This will be the eighth consecutive meeting since the series resumed in 2001 ... The first meeting was Oct. 7, 1983 in Madison, an 18-17 LVC win ... Coach Jim Monos is 6-1 against the Devils ... LVC is 7-8 on Oct. 16 ... LVC has won two in a row on Oktoberfest Weekend ... Appropriately enough for Oktoberfest Weekend, the game falls on the 113th anniversary of LVC's first-ever football game. The Dutchmen lost to Carlisle, 4-0, on Oct. 16, 1897.

Wilkes Recap
Wilkes took advantage of Lebanon Valley mistakes as it rallied back from 28-6 down to force overtime and stop the Dutchmen, 35-28, last week. The Dutchmen blew the fourth-quarter lead as the Colonels scored 22 points in the fourth, including third-string quarterback Alex George's 20-yard pass to Anthony Dorunda and subsequent game-tying two-point conversion to Todd Eagles. Matt Nawracaj's potential game-winning field goal was barely wide right from 21 into a stiff wind, and George's TD lunge in overtime was the decider as LVC was stopped four times at the goal line on their turn. It spoiled a great day for Ben Guiles, who had 172 yards rushing with a touchdown as LVC ran for 296 yards in all with 523 yards of total offense. Caleb Fick returned to start and had his best game of the year, going 16-for-30 for 206 yards and two touchdowns to become just the second player in program history to pass for 5,000 career yards. Brittany Ryan became LVC's all-time leader in PATs, booting four to surpass Doug Zook '92's record. She has 79 for her career. Defensively, Nick Bowne had a career game with 16 tackles, including two for a loss with a sack, while Jason Gigous had 10 tackles and an interception. Penalties and mistakes again hurt LVC; the Dutchmen were flagged 11 times for 91 yards, including a call that negated a Matt Lillis interception in the end zone in the fourth quarter. LVC also lost four fumbles, including a game-changer late in the fourth as Fick was hit by Chris Swinarski to set up Wilkes' game-tying score.

Wilkes Notables
Each of the last five games between LVC and Wilkes has been decided by a single score ... Fick joined Dan Kelly '07 as the only quarterback in program history to pass for 5,000 yards ... Freshman Tate Moore-Jacobs, who leads the MAC in tackles, had 15 stops and two fumble recoveries for Wilkes ... Nic Shirey had a career-high nine tackles ... It was Guiles' seventh career 100-yard game and second-best by yardage. He had a career-high 187 yards against Wilkes last year ... Guiles moved up to fifth on LVC's all-time rushing list with 1,930 career yards, surpassing Frank Tavani '76 ... Guiles would be LVC's fifth 2,000-yard rusher ...
