ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley built a huge first-half lead and never looked back as it ran away from Elizabethtown, 71-59, in a Commonwealth Conference game on Saturday.

The Dutchmen (15-7, 8-3 CC) have all but sewn up the CC's second seed and can secure it with a win at Widener on Tuesday. The Pride clinched their playoff spot Saturday with a win over Lycoming, while third-place Albright did likewise by stunning Messiah in overtime. Elizabethtown (10-14, 3-8 CC) saw its slim playoff hopes come to an end.

Andrea Hoover had an outstanding all-around game with 17 points, six assists, and five rebounds to lead the Dutchmen, who had five players in double figures overall including Eryn Schultz's 14 and Suzie Noyes' 13.  Lori Lidlow added 11 points and five assists.

Before the game, seniors Megan Bish and Amie Bickert were honored as they played their final regular-season home game.

E-town's Megan Quinn led all scorers with 22 points and 14 rebounds, including seven offensive grabs.

LVC built a massive 21-point first-half lead on the back of an early 14-0 run that included three Schultz three-pointers. A shell-shocked Elizabethtown couldn't connect as it was scoreless over a five-minute span.

E-town tried to make a game of it midway through the second half, whittling the lead down to 11 after Courtney Kofeldt's three-pointer capped a 7-0 run, but Hoover answered with back-to-back layups to kill the run.

LVC shot 45.6 percent overall, including 8-for-16 from three-point range. The Blue Jays managed to shoot 34.4 percent overall after a dismal 7-for-30 first half.

Lebanon Valley will play its conference finale Tuesday at Widener.
