Box Score

ANNVILLE, Pa.
- Lebanon Valley withstood a late Arcadia rally as it shook off a pesky Knights team, 75-71, in Commonwealth Conference play Saturday.

The Dutchmen (5-3, 2-0 CC) led wire-to-wire, but the lead never felt safe as the Knights (2-4, 0-2 CC) shaved down a 16-point lead. LVC was red-hot with the long-ball, shooting 10-for-17 as they shot 59.6 percent from the floor overall, but the Dutchmen left 13 points at the line as they were just 9-for-22.

Jordan Stewart drained five three-pointers on six tries for a game-high 19 points, and Zach Kebetz added 11 points and three treys off the bench. Joe Meehan had 15 points and six assists, while Dan Dunkelberger put together an 11-11 double-double.

Chris Pearson led the Knights with 14 points and four assists, and Renard Smith added 13. Arcadia shot 58.1 percent in the second half after going just 10-for-32 (31.3%) in the first half.

Lebanon Valley led from the start, and a 15-2 run over the latter part of the first half put them firmly in control of the game. LVC extended the lead to as much as 16 on a pair of Stewart foul shots, and Pearson's layup to end the half made it a 37-24 LVC lead at the break.

The Knights made a game of it with back-to-back Pearson jumpers in the second half to cut the lead to six, but three-pointers by Kebetz and Stewart stopped the mid-half run. LVC went back up by 12 before three straight buckets by the Knights made it 57-51 with 8:05 to go.

It finally seemed as though the Dutchmen had the game in hand when Meehan followed up a fastbreak jam with two more baskets to take a 12-point lead with 2:17 left. The Knights' Glen Gagnon converted two foul shots, though, and Darrell Mills' layup made it a 75-67 game with 1:26 remaining.

Mills made another shot with 50 seconds left to give his team a chance, but Arcadia didn't foul until there were 22 seconds left. Stewart couldn't sink a shot, and Smith capitalized with a layup to cut the lead to four. With just nine seconds left, the Knights had to foul, but Kebetz also couldn't hit a shot in a one-and-one situation.

Needing two baskets, Arcadia's Malcolm Still missed a three-pointer, and Stewart grabbed the rebound to end the game.

LVC will visit McDaniel on Dec. 15.
