WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley won 16 events as the men's and women's swimming teams earned their first wins of the year over King's Wednesday night.
The men's team (1-2) defeated the Monarchs 78-44, while the women (1-2) won 106-71.
For the men, Nate Heinly won the 50 free in 25.11, and Jeff Bush won the 200 free in 2:00.41 and was fastest in exhibition in the 100 free in 54.88. Johnny Schoenberger was first in the 200 IM in 2:23.30
In uncontested races,
Tony Shipkowski swam 11:53.76 in the 1000 free and 1:04.76 in the 100 back, and
John Heenan (1:02.16) and
Ryan Humphries (1:02.60) were close in the 100 fly,
For the women,
Kelsey Sherman won the 50 free by more than two seconds in 27.22, then captured the 100 free in 1:00.59, out-touching teammate
Charlie Robinson by just five-hundreths of a second.
Kristen Zartman won the 200 free in 2:09.50, while
Mary Gardner led a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 IM with a 2:29.83 time and
Laurel Klappholz was first in the 100 fly in 1:13.27. Alex Hockley won the 100 back in 1:10.89, and
Lisa Niethamer was fastest in exhibition of the 100 breaststroke in 1:15.29.
In relay action, both 200 medleys won, with the women in 2:05.92 and the men uncontested in 1:51.24. The women's 200 free relay was fastest in exhibition in 1:51.53, and the men swam uncontested in 1:49.40.
