Box Score
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Delaware Valley halted Lebanon Valley's undefeated start, holding LVC 28-7 in the MAC opener at Arnold Field.
LVC (3-1, 0-1 MAC) was held to just 249 yards of offense and 38 passing yards as the Aggies (3-1, 1-0 MAC) rolled out 428 yards of offense.
Charlie Parker became the second player in LVC history to reach 3,000 career rushing yards with 116 yards on 24 carries.
Ben Guiles added 74 yards on 10 totes.
The Dutchmen simply couldn't get its offense going despite plenty of chances, committing three turnovers and giving it over on downs twice more.
Caleb Fick was just 4-for-16 for 40 yards with two interceptions.
DVC counterpart Mike Isgro went 13-for-20 for 172 yards, rushed for 42 more, and also caught a touchdown pass on a fleaflicker.
Parker, who now has 3,050 career yards, needs 57 yards to surpass
Rick Coleman '78 as LVC's all-time leading rusher. He joined Coleman as LVC's only other 3,000-yard rusher late in the first half.
Fick was picked off by Ryan McCullough on the opening drive, and DVC converted it into a quick lead when Isaiah Hall went outside for a 26-yard run later in the drive.
The Aggies quieted a packed Arnold Field with a bruising drive late in the first quarter that ended on Matt Cook's punch-through, and went for the trick play on their third touchdown, going with a backward pass to Hall and back to Isgro, who ran 15 yards for the end zone.
LVC got a score back midway through the second quarter, starting with great field position after
Jeff Ochoa's 44-yard kick return and capping the drive with
Colt Zarilla's six-yard quarterback keeper to the left corner.
That would be the final score for the Dutchmen, who punted twice and turned it over on downs in the third quarter, then gave up an interception that led to Cook's second touchdown in the fourth quarter.
LVC will head to Wilkes next Saturday.
