Lidlow's Layup Wins It For WBB

Box Score

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.
- Lori Lidlow sank the game-winning layup with 4.4 seconds remaining and Eryn Schultz poured in a career-high 26 points as Lebanon Valley picked up a crucial Commonwealth Conference road win, 70-69, at Lycoming on Saturday.

The Dutchmen (12-6, 5-2 CC) sweep the season series from the Warriors (11-6, 2-5 CC) and solidify their second-place spot in the conference standings.

Schultz matched the program record for three-pointers in a game for the second time this season, going 6-for-11 from beyond the arc. Lidlow had 15 points and five assists overall, while Andrea Hoover added 11 points and five assists, including the dish on Lidlow's game-winner.

Megan Bish, who had eight points, made a game-saving steal at the buzzer to prevent a potential game-winning shot by Lycoming.

Jessica Zerbee and Alicia Engler led Lyco with 17 and 16 points, respectively. Rebecca Leid added 14 off the bench.

Despite leading nearly all game, LVC gave up the lead late in the second half. With Lyco up a point with 2:32 to go, Schultz started a series of three-pointers, making her sixth and final trey before Zerbee made one 17 seconds later to reclaim the lead.

Suzie Noyes made a three of her own to put LVC up two with 47 seconds left, but Zerbee answered again from the outside to take a one-point edge with 24 seconds left.

After Lidlow missed a layup with 14 ticks remaining, Hoover fouled Engler, but the Warrior forward missed her foul shot and Bish grabbed the board. That set up Hoover to give to Lidlow, who drained the layup to go ahead by a point.

With plenty of time left for a final try, Bish picked off Engler at the buzzer to prevent a shot.

LVC, which had been ice-cold the last two games, shot a respectable 42.6 percent, including 11-for-21 (52.4%) from three-point range. Lycoming shot 40 percent overall and was 10-for-26 (38.5%) from the outside.

Turnovers doomed the Warriors, who committed 26 total, with 18 unforced.

LVC will return home Wednesday to host Albright College.
