LVC Shoots Past Lycoming, 75-68

Box Score

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa
. - Kyle Enoch drained 27 points, including six three-pointers, to lead a resurgent Lebanon Valley past Lycoming, 75-68, in a Commonwealth Conference game on Saturday.

A week ago, the Dutchmen were in the basement of the CC standings with a 1-4 record after a woeful loss at Elizabethtown. Now, the Dutchmen are 10-9 overall, 3-4 in CC play and are in the hunt for a playoff berth after consecutive wins over Widener and the Warriors (9-9, 3-4 CC).

The result was never really in doubt after a big first-half push gave LVC a 14-point halftime lead.

Enoch finished with 27 points on 8-of-12 shooting, and went 5-for-5 at the line with six rebounds. Joe Meehan had 14 points, five assists and five boards, while Dan Dunkelberger added 10 points and eight rebounds. Sean MacIntosh added 11 points, including three treys.

Big man Greg Sye led Lycoming with a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double, and Sebastian Sabella came off the bench for 19 points.

Despite committing just eight turnovers and holding a huge 21-7 advantage on the offensive glass, Lyco shot just 35.2 percent from the floor to LVC's red-hot 51.1 percent, and the Dutchmen went 10-for-16 from beyond the arc.

The Dutchmen were once again solid at the line, making 19 of 25 tries.

Lycoming took an early lead before consecutive threes by MacIntosh and Enoch put LVC ahead five minutes into the game. The Dutchmen pulled away late in the half with a 13-2 run that included a pair of Enoch three-pointers.

Despite the double-digit hole, Lycoming proved game and got as close as seven midway through the second after a 6-0 spurt that held the Dutchmen scoreless over a 4:44 span until MacIntosh's three put the lead back to 10.

The Warriors wouldn't quit, though, and Will Kelly's three-pointer with 3:32 to go, followed by a pair of Sye free throws, make it a four-point game with 2:41 to go. The Dutchmen responded again with the long-ball, this time on back-to-back buckets from Meehan and Enoch, to retake a 10-point lead.

Lycoming needed a miracle, and despite Sye's layup and Sabella's trey to pull within five with 20 seconds left, the Warriors couldn't close the gap as Enoch iced the game with two foul shots with 17 ticks left.

LVC will return home to host Albright Wednesday night.
