Box Score

ANNVILLE, Pa.
- #4 Lebanon Valley College scored less than a minute into the game and never looked back, scoring eight times as it defeated DeSales University, 8-0, Thursday.

Freshman Jocelyn Novak carded her second career hat trick for the Dutchmen (5-1), while Shelly Lobach and Danielle Blase each scored twice. The LVC defense held the Bulldogs (3-4) to five shots.

Blase set the tone just 52 seconds into the game when she tipped in Alex Wolfe's cross.

The Dutchmen offense then built up slowly until it broke out for five goals in a span of eight minutes. Marisa Maxwell made it 2-0 in the 17th minute when she buried a rebounded shot of goalkeeper Marian Karnas, and Lobach was there with her first less than two minutes later when she tipped Nikki Bomberger's blast from the arc.

Novak tallied her first off another Bomberger feed in the 22nd minute, and Lobach partnered with Wolfe moments later on a breakaway to make it 5-0. Novak finished the scoring spurt in the 25th minute when she went five-hole after her first shot came off the 'keeper's pad.

Novak added her third seven minutes into the second half with an unassisted shot from an angle, and Blase capped the rout with a rebounded ball in the 56th minute.

Karnas, a converted midfielder who was making her first-ever appearance in goal due to an injury to the Bulldogs' starter, made some spectacular saves among her 17. Caitlin Baro and Christine Poletti split halves for LVC, each making two saves, with Baro earning the win.

LVC outshot DeSales 33-5 and had a 17-8 corners advantage.

Lebanon Valley will host Franklin & Marshall College Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
