Moments later, Widener had the chance for another when they drew a penalty kick, but Doug Gabel shot low and up the middle for an easy save by

LVC had several outstanding set piece opportunities. An early free kick from the top of the box by
George Andriko curled on goal and clanged the cross bar, and Morgan Crouse's late bid with a minute and a half remaining was diving for the corner before Correa got a hand to it.
Chris Hall, who had scored three in LVC's 5-1 win over the Pride in the regular season, also had some great chances, first as he forced a diving save by Correa and again late in the game when he launched a rocket from 30 yards to force another great stop.
However, the equalizer never came for the Dutchmen despite taking 10 second-half shots.
Mehl made two saves for LVC, including the PK stop. LVC held a 7-6 edge on corners.
