CHESTER, Pa. - The Lebanon Valley College swimming teams raced to a pair of losses at Widener University Friday night, with the men falling 119-74 and the women dropping an extremely tight 101-96 decision.

Junior Kevin Carney smashed his own record for the 1000-yard freestyle, finishing in 10:18.40, taking nearly 18 seconds off his old record of 10:36.13.

In one of the final qualification opportunities of the season, senior Allison Sweigart set a MAC-qualifying time in the 100 butterfly with her 1:11.04 finish.

LVC returns home Saturday to face FDU-Florham in its season dual-meet finale at 1 p.m.
