MADISON, N.J. - Senior Mimi Sullivan scored the game's only goal as the Lebanon Valley College field hockey team topped FDU-Florham, 1-0, Saturday afternoon.
The Dutchmen (4-0) continued their hot start. The Devils (3-3) had a three-game winning streak snapped.
The game was a goalkeeping battle, with both sophomore Caitlin Baro and Jamie SanFilippo made seven saves. LVC rifled off 16 shots while FDU-Florham took 11.
Sullivan broke through with the gamewinner in the 27th minute, scoring unassisted. LVC's defense held on for the balance of game, stopping a string of FDU penalty corners late in the second half.
Baro earned her second shutout in four games this season.
The Dutchmen continue the season on Tuesday, hosting Dickinson at 4 p.m.
