Sullivan Lifts Field Hockey Over No. 12 E-town

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Junior Mimi Sullivan scored off a penalty corner pass from sophomore Alex Wolfe with 26:09 left in the game, as the No. 12-ranked Lebanon Valley College field hockey team earned a big 2-1 Commonwealth Conference victory over No. 11 Elizabethtown College Wednesday afternoon.

Lebanon Valley (12-1, 4-1 CC) won its eighth straight game and continued the team's best start since 2000, when LVC opened the season 14-0. LVC's eight-game winning streak matches the team's longest such streak since 2003. The Valley is now tied with Juniata for first place in the Commonwealth Conference, holding a half-game lead over both Elizabethtown (11-2, 3-1 CC) and Messiah (3-1 CC).

Senior Mallary Anderson put the Valley in front 1-0 just under seven minutes into the game. She accepted a pass from classmate Steph Marguglio on a rebound and scored her second goal of the season.

Elizabethtown tied it up with 15:49 left in the opening half, when Brennan Noon tipped in a shot that came from beyond the circle. It was a 1-1 game at the half before Sullivan delivered the game-winner, which was her seventh goal of the season.

Senior Katie Pawlewicz made five saves to earn the win in goal for Lebanon Valley while Kristen Callaghan stopped 11 shots for the Blue Jays.

Lebanon Valley plays a ranked opponent for the second straight game when it visits No. 7 William Smith on Saturday in a non-conference match starting at 2 p.m.
