Abrielle Miller, and
Megan Ressler each scored a goal for the Lebanon Valley College women's soccer team, leading the program to a 3-1 victory over Immaculata University on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Herbert Field. This marked Head Coach
Sunny Gelnovatch's first win with the Flying Dutchmen.
The Dutchmen (1-2-0) worked to generate offensive opportunities early in the game, taking three shots within the first 5:42. Lebanon Valley then opened the scoring 5:44 into the game, taking a 1-0 lead over the Mighty Macs (0-2-0).
Jayme Beninda attempted a shot that went to the left of the net and toward
Kennedy Dings in the goal box, who sent the ball into the net for a goal. Immaculata countered with a shot on goal at the 6:34 mark, but goalkeeper
Camryn Porter answered with a save for LVC. The programs proceeded to go back and forth for nearly 13 minutes, and the Flying Dutchmen outshot the opposition 6-2 during this stretch.
Lebanon Valley added a tally 21:54 into the opening stanza, taking a 2-0 advantage.
Abrielle Miller took a shot on a free kick from behind the penalty arc, which went into the lower-right corner of the net for a goal. The Flying Dutchmen quickly scored again at the 22:33 mark, going ahead 3-0.
Megan Ressler took a shot from behind the left side of the penalty box and sent the ball into the right corner of the net for a goal. After each team took two more shots, Immaculata narrowed the score to 3-1 on a goal by Liz Anderson at the 31:39 mark. LVC remained aggressive offensively during the rest of the first, logging four more shots. The Dutchmen took their 3-1 advantage into halftime.
Lebanon Valley kept sending shots toward the net as the second half got underway, tallying six attempts during the first 10:34. During this stretch, Miller took four shots while Ressler and
Ashlynn Newton each registered a try. The Mighty Macs later put a shot on target at the 61:02 mark, which was saved by Porter.
The Flying Dutchmen created more scoring chances as the end of the contest approached, including a shot by Miller that went off the right post at the 76:56 mark.
Meredith Mantione also took a shot for LVC that was saved at the 77:42 mark, and
McKenna Valentine had a try saved at the 82:42 mark. Lebanon Valley proceeded to preserve its 3-1 lead through the remainder of the game, securing the team's first victory of 2026.
Inside the Box Score
- Miller scored her first goal of the season, which marked the game-winner. The senior also recorded game-highs with 11 shots and two shots on goal.
- Dings found the net for the second time this year, which marked her second straight game with a goal.
- Ressler netted her second goal of the campaign.

Lebanon Valley will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 5 p.m., when the program will travel to take on Wilkes University at Bruggeworth Field in Edwardsville.
