BAYONNE, N.J. – The Lebanon Valley men's tennis team fought valiantly against nationally ranked Stevens Institute of Technology on Sunday afternoon in a battle for first place in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom standings. The host Ducks won 7-0 to clinch the top seed in this week's conference tournament, while the Dutchmen will be the second seed.
Stevens won all nine matches to keep its unbeaten conference streak alive. The Dutchmen battled throughout the match, taking two games in doubles play and a total of 14 games during the six singles matches.
Inside the Box
- Zach Schrader and Mason Dissinger dropped a 6-1 decision at number one doubles.
- Adam Warren and Ethan Luu also fell 6-1 at number two doubles.
- Vincent Thompson and Brayden Waiter dropped a 6-0 decision at number three doubles.
- Warren battled at number two singles, dropping a 6-3, 6-0 decision.
- Schrader was one of two Dutchmen to take games in both sets as he dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision at number one singles.
- Colin Brusse also won games in both sets during a 6-1, 6-2 defeat at number four singles.
- Dissinger dropped a 6-0, 6-2 decision at number three singles, while Jared Hostetter fell 6-2, 6-0 at number five singles.
- Zachary Elmore dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision at number six singles.
Up Next
The second-seeded Dutchmen will host third-seeded Arcadia University in the MAC Freedom Semifinals. The match is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at the Shankroff Tennis Center with a 4 p.m. start.
