HERSHEY, Pa. – Lebanon Valley junior
Jillian Fidler began the spring season for the women's golf team with an 84 at the Elizabethtown Invitational on a cold, damp, and dreary day in Hershey to earn medalist honors in a field of 33 golfers on the East Course of the Hershey Country Club.
Fidler earns her third tournament victory of the year after earning medalist honors at the Susquehanna Fall Invitational and Lebanon Valley Fall Invitational. The junior also finished second at the Elizabethtown Fall Invitational with a 79 on the par-71 course at Hershey Country Club on a much nicer day than the conditions for Thursday's round. Fidler tied Salisbury University's Krista Brosius for the top round of the afternoon with scores of 84 and held the tiebreaker to earn medalist honors with a better score on the back nine. Fidler was a four-over 39 on the back nine with a par on 10 and back-to-back birdies on the par-five 14th hole and the par-four 15th hole. She had two pars on the front nine where she carded a 45.
Alexa Pridham finished 19th with a score of 110. She had a 53 on the front nine and a 57 on the back nine. The senior was just four strokes off her round at Hershey Country Club in the fall, where she also finished 19th.
Anna Tokle had a round of 152. She carded a 73 on the front nine and a 79 on the back nine. The junior was 10 strokes better than the round she recorded in her collegiate debut at Hershey Country Club in the fall.
LVC will be back in action on Saturday as the same three golfers will head to the Tanglewood Manor Golf Course in Quarryville to compete at the Millersville Invitational. The event is scheduled for a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
