KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Lebanon Valley senior
Jillian Fidler finished tied for third out of 51 golfers at the Millersville Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Berkeigh Golf Club in Kutztown.
The senior was the lone Dutchman competing in the field of mostly Division II teams. She recorded a two-day score of 156 with an 81 in round one on Monday afternoon and a 75 during Tuesday's final round. Brooke Graham of Kutztown University won medalist honors with a score of 149, recording rounds of 76 and 73. Adelphi's Nikola Truhlarova was second at 153 with rounds of 80 and 73.
Fidler was tied for ninth after the first day recording an 81 on the par-72 course. She recorded a 38 on the front nine and a 43 on the back nine with nine pars and a birdie on the par-four fourth hole. Fidler had a string of five consecutive pars from the sixth to the 10th hole. She had one of the best rounds of her career with a 75 on Tuesday with an even-par 35 on the front nine and a three-over 40 on the back nine. She started the round strong with a birdie on the par-four first hole and then recorded seven straight pars. She added five more pars on the back nine for 11 total pars on the round and had another birdie on the par-five 16th hole.
The women's golf team will be back in action on Saturday, September 26, when they compete in the Gettysburg Fall Invitational at Hanover Country Club in Abbottstown.
