GRANTHAM, Pa. – Lebanon Valley men's tennis junior
Colin Brusse earned the team's only point of the match with a three-set victory at number five singles in a tough 6-1 defeat at Messiah University on Saturday afternoon in Grantham.
The Falcons won two of the three doubles matches as LVC took the second court in a tightly contested contest. Messiah won the first five singles courts before Brusse earned a thrilling comeback win after dropping the first set 6-1. Three of the six singles matches needed a third set to decide a winner.
Inside the Box
- Brusse won his fifth singles match of the year with a 1-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-6) victory at number five. He is 1-1 this season when playing in the fifth flight.
- Mason Dissinger and Zach Schrader were 7-5 winners at number two doubles. The duo is 1-1 this season when paired together.
- Schrader dropped a hard-fought three-set battle at number one singles by a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. It was his second consecutive three-setter in singles play and his third of the season.
- Adam Warren also went three sets at number three singles, dropping a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 decision. The graduate student has played five three-setters this year.
- Warren and Jake Erb dropped a close 6-4 decision at number one doubles. Jared Hostetter and Ethan Luu were defeated 6-3 at number three doubles.

LVC will be back at the Shankroff Tennis Center on Thursday, March 26, in the final non-conference match of the year. The Dutchmen will take on Drew University starting at 4:30 p.m. in Annville.
